UNION, N.J. – The College of New Jersey women's swimming & diving team defeated Kean University on Thursday by a final score of 119-52. The win marked the 100
th career victory for head coach
Jennifer Harnett '93.
Harnett has been at the helm of the program for the last 17 seasons after excelling as a student-athlete at TCNJ. She now owns a career coaching record of 100-59, including an impressive mark of 48-4 in New Jersey Athletic Conference meets.
The Lions set the tone of the meet right away, as the 200-medley relay A team secured first place to take 11 team points.
Elise Fraser,
Haley Crispell,
Hailey Thayer, and
Melanie Fosko won the relay with a time of 2:03.00.
Zoe Chan won the 1000-free with a time of 11:21.77.
Tricia Thomas swam to a first place finish in the 200-free with a mark of 2:07.51. In the 50-free,
Kelsey Ballard finished in first as she stopped the clock at 27.12.
In the 400-IM,
Gabi Denicola claimed first place as she swam to a time of 5:00.72.
Maddie Hynoski took first in the 50-fly with a time of 28.25, while
Annie Menninger won the 100-free with a time of 58.17.
Chan took her second event of the day when she won the 50-back with a time of 29.76. Menninger additionally won two events, as she swam to first in the 50-breast with a 32.39 performance.
The Lions rounded out the meet strong with a first place finish in the 200-free relay team. The squad of
Courtney Thompson, Thayer, Denicola, and Hynoski swam to a 1:51.18 to top the competition.

TCNJ will now have a quick turnaround, as they will be back in the pool tomorrow to face Southern Connecticut State University on the road at 3:00 p.m.
