NEW HAVEN, Conn. –The College of New Jersey women's swimming & diving team was defeated by Southern Connecticut State University on Friday afternoon by a final score of 175-123. The Lions dropped to 3-2 on the season, while the Owls improved to 3-2 on the campaign.
Zoe Chan captured first place in the 100-back, as she swam to a time of 1:01.44.
Annie Menninger finished in first place in the 100-breast, as she stopped the clock at 1:09.39 while
Haley Crispell claimed second place with a time of 1:13.29.
Elise Fraser won the 50-free as she topped the competition with a time of 25.42.
Melanie Fosko put forth a first place effort in the 100-free with a time of 56.26.
Menninger took first place for a second time on the afternoon when she won the 200-breast with a time of 2:31.56. Chan additionally took first place in the 100-fly as she posted a 59.11.
The Lions' 200-medley relay team took second place, as the squad of
Hailey Thayer, Menninger, Chan, and Fraser finished with a time of 1:38.25.
TCNJ will return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 26 when it will travel to New Jersey Athletic Conference foe Rowan University for an 11:00 a.m. meet.
