Today's This Week in TCNJ History moment dates back to Dec. 6, 2015. The women's swimming & diving team completed a dominant first-place finish in the TCNJ invitational. The Lions topped five teams with 1,126 total points on the weekend.
TCNJ won its eighth-straight NJAC Championship at the end of the 2015-16 season. At the MET Championships, the Lions swam to a second-place finish.

Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team put the finishing touches on a dominant weekend, as the Lions placed first at the 2015 TCNJ Invitational.
The Lions amassed 1,126 points, outscoring second-place finisher Rowan University who finished with 603.5 points. York College placed third with 558.5 points, followed by University of Bridgeport (517) and United States Merchant Marine Academy (381 points).

Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill East) completed her stellar weekend by winning the 200-breaststroke. She bested Rowan's Olivia Wojtowicz with a 2:26.47, which was over four seconds faster than her morning swim. Freshman Lindsey Rippey (
Sparta, NJ / Sparta) dropped just over two seconds from the morning to place third with a 2:32.70, while sophomoreÂ

Hamilton, NJ / Steinert) and senior Liz Spanfelner (Berlin, NJ / Eastern Regional) topped the heat with first and second-place finishes. Both dropped time from their morning swim to produce season best times of 2:16.15 and 2:19.87.
Springing into action on the boards, freshmanÂ
Emma Pranschke (Westwood, NJ / Westwood Regional) soared to first place in the 3-Meter (11 Dive) event with a score of 329.20.
With a commanding lead going into the 400-freestyle relay, the Lions won the event by three seconds with a time of 3:39.32. The victorious contributors were Strollo, sophomoreÂ

Lebanon, NJ / North Hunterdon) touched first in 55.34. SeniorÂ

(Lavallette, NJ / Manasquan) finished third with a 56.86 while sophomore Robin Luken made her first finals appearance (

Debbie Meskin (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) was runner-up in the 200-butterfly by .30 seconds with a 2:14.58. Richards and Denicola, who both swam in events earlier in the session, placed fourth (2:24.90) and fifth (2:26.09) respectively.
TCNJ will enjoy an extended break from competition. The Lions will resume dual meets on Wednesday, January 20
th, when they visit Stevens Institute of Technology at 3:00 p.m.
