NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its weekly rankings update Tuesday. The College of New Jersey women's team is ranked 15
th.
The Lions also rank third in the Atlantic region and first in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The rankings are produced by assigning a score to each of the top performances from the past two seasons.
The Lions are led in the rankings by Samantha Gorman and
Kaila Carter. Gorman ranks sixth in the 200 meters and ninth in the 400 meters. Carter ranks sixth in the 60-meter hurdles. The Lions also own the nation's top 400 meter team as ranked by the average time of the top four runners in the discipline.
The Lions 4x400 team of
Megan Gasnick,
Alli Uhl, Gorman, and Katie LaCapria still own the nation's third best time of 3:55.97.
TCNJ returns to action Feb. 14 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
