No. 19 Men’s Swimming and Diving Posts Additional NCAA B-Cuts on Way to Second Place Finish at METs

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.
– The 19th-ranked TCNJ men's swimming and diving team finished second at the MET Championships on Sunday. The Lions finished with 1,478.5 points in the tight, three-way race for first. 18th-ranked Rowan won the meet with 1,510 points. 17th-ranked USMMA finished third with 1,445.5 points. The 1,478.5 points is a 65.5-point improvement on a season ago, when the Lions also finished in second place.
 
In the 1,650-free, Conrad Hoody and James Keane each posted personal bests and NCAA B-Cut times to finish second and third. Hoody touched the wall at 16:10.21. Keane stopped the clock at 16:12.65. Kai Michaud and Mathias Altman-Kurosaki finished seventh and ninth. DJ DeSomma posted a personal best to place eighth. Hoody would go on to be named Rookie of the Meet as the freshman who accumulated the most total team points at the meet.
 
In the 200-back, Andrew Thompson posted an NCAA B-Cut and personal-best time of 1:49.53 for third. Sean Rave posted a personal best to take fifth. Derek Kneisel took sixth in the event.
 
Harrison Yi swam a personal best in the prelims, then posted a time of 46.41 for sixth in the 100-free. Nolan Kuscan swam a personal best for seventh. Dixon Kahler tied for first in the B-Final with a personal-best time. Pat Bakey swam a personal best for 14th. David Madigan finished 16th.
 
Eli O'Connor swam a personal best in the 200-breast, stopping the clock at 2:07.11. Andrew Duff finished 10th.
 
Griffin Morgan posted an NCAA B-Cut in the 200-fly. He finished second with a time of 1:50.44. Zachary Volm posted a personal best to finish 11th. Altman-Kurosaki placed 16th.
 
The Lions posted another NCAA B-Cut in the 400-free relay to close out the meet. Kahler, Yi, Morgan, and Thompson combined to stop the clock at 3:02.06, currently 17th in the nation.
 
Jay Soukup will compete at the NCAA Diving Regional on Feb. 28. The remainder of the Lions await the final NCAA performance list which will be released on Wednesday.
