McChesney's All-American Swim Highlights Day Two of NCAAs for #9 Men's Swim

3/19/2026 9:38:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On the second day of the 2026 DIII NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, Joe McChesney added another All-American honor to his already impressive résumé.

McChesney qualified for the championship final of the 100 butterfly by posting the fifth-fastest qualifying time in the prelims — a 47.27. In the A final, McChesney placed seventh overall (47.80) in order to secure himself another First Team All-America recognition. As a result, the Lions now sit in eighth with 60 points after the second day of the meet.

Steven Bendoraitis and Gavin Formon came close to making B finals in their respective events, but they unfortunately placed a few spots too low. Bendoraitis placed 20th in the 200 freestyle (1:38.66) while Formon finished 18th in the 400 IM (3:59.02). TCNJ's 200 freestyle relay of McChesney, M.J. Hoban, Andrew Kidchob, and Gabe Beverini closed out the morning session of day two, placing 22nd overall (1:22.95).
