NJAC Release

EWING, N.J. - After claiming its first conference championship in five years, the TCNJ men's swimming team was unanimously picked to repeat the feat as the favorite of the NJAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. 

The Lions earned all five first-place votes, while Rowan was picked second and voted the conference's dark horse. Montclair State was third, followed by Ramapo and William Paterson.

The Lions return a host of key contributors from last year's squad that captured the program's first NJAC title since 2016. Andrew Thompson was named NJAC Swimmer of the Year after piling up seven first-team all-conference awards, including in the 100 fly, 200 back, and 200 IM. Thompson was a CSCAA All-American in the 200 IM and as part of the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay. 

James McChesney was selected as the NJAC rookie of the year following a brilliant debut campaign that featured six first-team honors.

Patrick Sullivan picked up three All-NJAC laurels, while Conrad Hoody was a first-team performer in the 200 IM. Matt Watts was part of two first-team relays (200/400 FR).

Dixon Kahler, an All-American in the 800 free relay in 2020, received all-league honorable mention in the 100 free, with Alex Johnson (200 breast) and Mathias Altman-Kurosaki (400 IM) also earning honorable mention.

David Dow, the reigning NJAC Coach of the Year, and the Lions get underway on Saturday with a home dual against Montclair State.
