No. 15 Men’s Swimming Defeats Stevens, 166-94

RESULTS

EWING, N.J
. - The TCNJ men's swimming team held their second meet of the season against the Stevens Ducks, and the Lions came out on top with a score of 166-94.
 
Matt Watts, Kai Zola, and Thomas Zdroik swept the top three spots of the 50 Freestyle with Watts finishing first with a time of 22.01.
 
The 200 Freestyle was neck and neck between TCNJ's James McChesney and Steven's Edward Platonov. McChesney came out on top with a time of 1:44.51 with Platonov close behind at 1:45.27
 
The men's relay team A including Jonah Herring, Alexander Johnson, James McChesney, and Matt Watts were able to win in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:35.93
 
Ryan Vandeveen won two individual races for the men including the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.23 and 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:12.61.
 
The men were able to take back the backstroke by Ryan Higgins winning the 200 with a time of 1:56.03, just beating Ali Kolenovic (1:56.37) from Stevens who won the 100 earlier in the meet.
 
In the men's 1000 Freestyle, Blach came out on top with a time of 9:55.57. Conrad Hoody from TCNJ managed to finish second with a time of 10:09.88.
 
Blach was also able to secure first in the 500 Freestyle at 4:52.02.
 
Andrew Thompson beat out Stevens by close to a second to win the 100 Butterfly with a time of 50.69.
 
Finishing off with the 400 Freestyle relay, Andrew Thompson, Shawn Kushner, Matt Watts, and James McChesney came in first for their team with a time of 3:09.62
 
Ethan Weiss won 1-meter (277.27) and 3-meter (267.52) diving for the event.
 
The Lions are back in action against Ramapo next Saturday.
