PITMAN, N.J. – For the second consecutive week, the TCNJ women's track and field team produced an NJAC award winner – and this time the Lions took two.
Megan Gasnick was named track athlete of the week and
Eliza Bruncaj earned rookie of the week laurels for their performances at Princeton's Joe Handelman Invitational on Sunday.
Gasnick ran the second-fastest 300-meter dash time in the country with a clocking of 40.94 seconds, which also ranks second in program history. She also split a blazing 58.73 to lead off the first-place 4x400-meter relay, which clocked in at 4:02.57 to jump to fifth in Division III.
Gasnick posted a personal-best 8.14 in the 60-meter dash, currently good for third in the conference.
Bruncaj made her mark in both track and field events on Sunday. The rookie tallied the second-highest long jump in the NJAC with a leap of 15-9.75. She also ran a regional qualifying time of 9.49 in the 60-meter hurdles and took the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay, which also included
Maria Grill and
Alli Uhl.
