PITMAN, N.J. – The TCNJ men's swimming and diving team swept the NJAC weekly awards after a 203-120 victory over Montclair State that clinched the first conference championship for the team since 2016.

Andrew Thompson was named NJAC Swimmer of the Week after he won all seven events he participated in during the three sessions of the virtual tri-meet against Montclair State. Thompson's time of 1:51.53 in the 200-IM ranks seventh nationally this season. The time of 3:22.72 in the 400-medley relay he was a part of ranks fourth nationally this season. The 200-medley team swam the eighth-fastest time in the nation this year, stopping the clock at 1:32.72. Thompson's time of 49.03 in the 100-fly currently ranks third nationally. The time of 6:51.30 in the 800-free relay ranks third nationally. His time in the 200-back of 1:51.54 ranks 10th in the country. The 400-free relay sits fifth nationally with a time of 3:05.56. The award is the fourth of the career for the senior.

Jay Soukup earned his 11
th career honor and second of the season after winning the lone diving competition of the meet. Soukup posted a score of 254.70 in his final meet as a Lion. He was selected as NJAC Diver of the Week.

James McChesney was named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. McChesney won 6 of the 7 events he raced during the virtual meet, coming in second to teammate
Patrick Bakey in the seventh. McChesney was on the 400-medley relay, 400-free relay, and 800-free relays with Thompson. He was also a member of the 200-free relay team ranks sixth in the country with a time of 1:24.23. His time of 1:41.13 in the 200-free ranks eighth in the country. McChesney ranks 12th nationally in the 100-free with a time of 45.97.
