5/10/2021 4:20:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. – The TCNJ women's track and field team claimed a pair of weekly awards as announced by the NJAC on Monday. Sam Gorman was named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week and Amanda Demko was selected as NJAC Rookie of the Week.

Gorman earns her seventh-career outdoor honor after winning both the 100- and 200-meters at the NJAC Championships, the only track athlete to win multiple events. She won the 100-meters with a time of 12.65 and the 200-meters with a time of 25.44.

Demko earned her fourth weekly honor of the season after winning the 400-meters at the NJAC Championships. Her winning time of 57.91 was over three full seconds ahead of the nearest competitor from another school.

Both athletes helped the Lions win the NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship for the first time since 2014. The team returns to action on Thursday when it hosts the TCNJ Last Chance Meet.
