PITMAN, N.J. – The TCNJ women's track & field team won all three weekly NJAC awards, as announced by the conference on Monday.
Sam Gorman was named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week.
Kassidy Mulryne was selected as NJAC Field Athlete of the Week, and
Amanda Demko was named NJAC Rookie of the Week.
Gorman won the 400-meter dash in TCNJ's Last Chance Meet. She crossed the finish line at 57.04 to finish first out of five runners. Gorman's time ranks 21
st in the nation this season. She also ran the 200-meter and finished in third place with a time of 25.34.
Gorman was also on the Lions' 4x400 meter relay team who competed in the ECAC Championships and raced to fourth place with a time of 3:51.64. The relay team of Gorman,
Alli Uhl,
Megan Gasnick, and Demko ran their fastest time of the season on Sunday, which ranks 13
th in the nation this year. This marks Gorman's fourth NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
Mulryne placed second in the high jump at TCNJ's Last Chance Meet with a top mark of 1.60 meters. She additionally placed third in the long jump with a jump of 5.49 meters. That is her best jump of the season and the top mark in the conference this year. This marks Mulryne's second weekly NJAC honor of the season.
Demko takes home her fifth weekly conference award of the season. She finished in second place right behind Gorman in the 400-meter dash in the last chance meet with a time of 57.67. That is .21 seconds behind her personal record. Demko also ran the third leg on the 4x400 meter relay team in the ECAC Championships.
The TCNJ women's track & field team will return to action for the Atlantic Regional Championships on May 19 and 20.
