EWING, N.J. – Travis Jocelyn, a 2021 graduate of the TCNJ men's basketball program, has signed a contract to play professionally overseas. Jocelyn will play for the Chemnitz Niners, a member of the easy credit Basketball Bundesliga League in Germany.

"This is something that I would talk about ever since I was a little kid, and to be able to fulfill my dream of playing professional basketball is an amazing feeling," Jocelyn said. "There have been countless hours that I have put into developing my game over the years, and just to see all that work payoff is just very gratifying. There is still a lot of work to be done, but to be able to say that I get to play professional basketball is a dream come true."

Jocelyn finished his career with a stellar senior season that culminated in D3hoops.com All-America honors. He averaged 20.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. In his junior season, Jocelyn recorded 17.2 points per game and shot 41% from three-point range.

"As a program, we are so proud of Travis for officially becoming a pro," TCNJ head coach Matt Goldsmith said. "He told us that this was his goal years ago, and to watch him earn that opportunity through hard work and dedication has been inspiring for both the staff and his teammates. We cannot wait to watch him as he moves forward in his career. He will be a TCNJ basketball player that we discuss as a program for years to come!"

Jocelyn had an exceptional career at TCNJ. He scored 863 points for an average of 12.0 per game in 72 appearances. Jocelyn made 110 career three-pointers, which places him 10th all-time in TCNJ history. The Verona, N.J., native credits TCNJ for preparing him for the professional level.

"Playing in the NJAC helped because it is a very physical league, and it will help me adjust to the physicality of European basketball," Jocelyn said. "Playing for TCNJ helped me because I was surrounded by people who wanted to win and make me a better player. I was pushed to be a better version of myself every day, and having a coach like Coach Goldsmith was very helpful, because he had been in the position that I am currently in. As a former National Champion and professional basketball player himself, Coach Goldsmith's advice throughout the years has been a tremendous help to me."

Jocelyn is the second TCNJ men's basketball alumni to land a professional contract recently. Randall Walko, a 2020 graduate, signed with the Formosa Taishin Dreamers last year.
