EWING, N.J. - The No. 15 TCNJ men's swimming and diving team got contributions up and down the roster in a 148-75 NJAC victory over William Paterson in the Lions' Senior Meet.
Before the dual TCNJ honored seniors Brett Clauhs, DJ DeSomma, Andrew Thompson, and Bryan Tran, who have contributed greatly to the team throughout their time at the College - and did so in the pool on Tuesday.
The senior quartet started their special night off with a bang, claiming first place in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:38.94 to narrowly edge teammates Ethan Laible, Ethan Dong, Jack Marble, and James McChesney (3:39.33).Â
The Lions finished with the top three spots in the 1000 free. Ryan Higgins took first with a time of 9:56.19, Conrad Hoody took second (9:59.07), and Ryan Heerema was third (10:50.91).
Lukas Blach (1:46.00), Matt Watts (1:47.55), and Laible (1:49.54) swept the top three spots in the 200 free.
Dixon Kahler came out on top for the 50 free at a time of 21.62.Â
TCNJ once again occupied the top three spots in both the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. Jonah Herring (53.41), Sean Rave (53.62), and Ryan Vandeveen (55.90) were the first three finishers in the 100 back, while Thompson (1:00.91), Luke Leshnower (1:02.95), and McChesney (1:04.10) finished at the head of the heat in the 100 breast.
Andrew Walter clinched top billing in the 200 back at 1:58.27, while Tran prevailed in the 200 breast (2:16.77).
Blach (48.66), Clauhs (50.60), and Kai Zola (50.80) were the first three to touch the wall in the 100 free.
Finishing with a time of 2:02.88, Marble came in first for the 200 fly.
The Lions dominated the 500 freestyle by securing the three fastest times. Ryan Higgins took first (4:52.71), DeSomma was second (5:07.38), and Thomas Zdroik placed third (5:12.86). Â
TCNJ continued to reign in the 100 fly and 200 IM. Rave was first with a time of 54.20 in his season debut, followed by teammates Kahler (54.44) and Evan Eckels (56.12).
The team of Laible, Dong, Marble, and McChesney posted the fastes time in the 400 medley relay at 3:17.45.Â
Ethan Weiss, the six-time NJAC diver of the week, won both the 1-meter (254.32) and 3-meter (312.15) boards. Michael Wu was second in both, registering a 254.32 on 1-meter and a 240.07 on 3-meter, while Alex Watts scored 209.02 on 1-meter and 214.57 on 3-meter.
The men's swimming and diving team hosts No. 16 Franklin & Marshall in their regular-season finale on Saturday.
