EWING, N.J. - A pair of TCNJ women's swimmers are set to represent the Lions on the biggest stage at the NCAA Division III Championships in Indianapolis next month.
Â
Senior
Zoe Chan and junior
Shannon Hesse both qualified for the national championships in multiple events and will head to Indianapolis from March 16-19.
Â
Chan's second career trip to the NCAA championships is a fitting end to a remarkable career in blue and gold. The two-time NJAC Swimmer of the Year was an All-American in the 100 fly in 2020 and has a strong chance to repeat, coming in seeded 8
th in the event with a top time of 54.95.
Â
Chan will also compete in the 200 fly (seeded 19
th) and 200 IM (seeded 45
th) in Indianpolis.
Â
Hesse is a first-time NCAA qualifier who has enjoyed a terrific season for the Lions. A six-time first-team All-NJAC performer entering the year, Hesse won the 50 free and joined Chan on the first-place 200 and 400 free relays at the Metropolitan Conference championships last weekend. She was also runner-up in the 100 free.
Â
Hesse is seeded 60
th in the 100 free and 55
th in the 200 free at nationals, but her best event is the 50 free. The junior comes in seeded 20
th with a top time of 23.43 seconds.
