RICHMOND, Va. – Seven members of the TCNJ men's swimming and diving team were named to the Scholar All-American Team of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced Wednesday.
Conrad Hoody, 
Dixon Kahler, 
James McChesney, and 
Andrew Thompson all garnered first-team honors, while 
Ryan Higgins, 
Shawn Kushner, and 
Ryan VanDeVeen received recognition on the second team.
First-team Scholar All-Americans achieved a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship, while second-team selections also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
An Accounting major, McChesney turned in a sensational sophomore campaign, earning five All-America certificates at the NCAA Championships. He was a first-team All-American in both the 100 and 200 free while collecting All-America honorable mention in the 50 free as well as the 400 and 800 free relays. The MET Rookie and Co-Swimmer of the Meet won six titles at the conference championships.
Hoody, a Finance major, was on the All-American 800 free relay and also earned national qualification in the 1650 free.
Kahler, majoring in Accounting, earned All-America honors in the 400 free relay.
Thompson, a Business Administration major, collected All-America laurels in the 400 and 800 free relays. The graduate student also qualified for NCAAs in the 100 fly, 200 free, and 200 IM.
Higgins, a Mathematics major, earned a B-cut in the 200 back. Kushner, a Computer Engineering major, did so in both the 100 and 200 breast, while VanDeVeen (majoring in Management) also had one in the 200 breast.
