NEW ORLEANS –  The TCNJ women's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and seven Lions qualified for All-Academic Athlete status.

Programs required a 3.10 cumulative grade-point average to be recognized as an All-Academic Team, and head coach Justin Lindsey's squad easily met that mark, combining for a 3.54 overall GPA.

Amanda Demko, Megan Gasnick, Maria Grill, Nicole Lester, Ashlyn MacLure, Victoria Purritano, and Alli Uhl all achieved All-Academic Athlete honors. In order to qualify, student-athletes need to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better and finish the season ranked in the top-50 nationally in an individual event or top-35 in a relay.

Demko collected all-region honors in the 400 and 4x400-meter relay during the indoor campaign, as well as in the 400 and 4x100 for the outdoor season. She competed in all three events at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Gasnick was an all-region performer in the 200 and 400 (indoor) as well as the 4x400 (outdoor), competing in the latter at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Grill compiled a host of impressive laurels in her senior season, collecting Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the NJAC Indoor Championship as well as Most Outstanding Athlete at the NJAC Outdoor Championship. An All-Metro qualifier in the 200, 400, and 4x400 for the indoor season and in the 200, 400, 4x100, and 4x400 for the outdoor campaign, Grill competed in the 4x400 at the NCAA Indoor Championships and in three events (400, 4x100, 4x400) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Lester was the NJAC pole vault champion at both conference meets, attaining all-region status in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

MacLure was an All-Metro honoree and NCAA qualifier in the 4x100-meter relay during the outdoor season.

Purritano won the 400-meter hurdles at the NJAC Outdoor Championship and was all-region in both the 100 and 400 hurdles in the outdoor campaign.

Uhl was All-Metro in the 800 and 4x400 for the indoor season and in the 400 and 800 during the outdoor season. She ran the 800 and 4x400 at both NCAA championship meets.
