T&F All Over Leaderboards on Day 2 of AARTFC Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y.- The TCNJ track and field team wrapped up the AARTFC Championships Saturday on a high note with the women's team finishing fifth and the men's team finishing in ninth. The women scored 39 team points and the men's team scored 23 team points.
 
The highlight for TCNJ on Saturday was Zachary Mackiewicz and Jessica Reilly as they both broke the school record in the weight throw. Mackiewicz took fifth in the event while breaking the men's school record with a mark of 17.46 meters. Reilly took ninth in her event while breaking the women's school record with a throw that traveled 15.75 meters.
 
The women's 4x200-meter relay team of Valandra Riggins, Ashlyn MacLure, Eliza Bruncaj and Maria Grill finished second on Saturday with an impressive time of 1:42.14. They narrowly had first place as the winning team from Rowan beat them by .19 seconds.
 
Allison Uhl had a strong showing in the 800-meter run where she would finish third after recording a time of 2:16.10
 
Riggins also picked up a fourth-place finish for herself in the 60-meter finals with a time of 7.84 seconds.
 
Picking up a fourth-place finish of his own in the 60-meter finals was Tom Domozych, who finished with a time of 6.98 seconds. Raymond Schmitt trailed Domozych by just .02 seconds while taking sixth in the event.
 
After breaking the school record on Friday, Victoria Purritano fished fifth in the 60-meter hurdle finals with a time of 8.83 seconds.
 
Megan Gasnick picked up a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter run, recording a time of 58.51 seconds.
 
Finishing sixth in the men's mile was senior Tyler Balas. He earned this spot after running his mile in 4:16.91.
 
Emily Hoegler finished seventh in the 3000-meter run after completing the race in 10:16.62
 
Thomas Blach rounded out scoring for the Lions with an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run. He finished his race with a time of 1:56.49.
 
TCNJ track and field heads to Birmingham, Alabama this week as they will send athletes to the NCAA Championships starting Friday, March 10th at 10 AM.
