MAHWAH, N.J.- Due to a last-minute schedule change, TCNJ track sent the other half of their athletes to the Ramapo Track and Field Invitational this past weekend. The Lions put up some impressive numbers as well as qualifying for regionals.

Michael Bond was one of the bigger highlights of the day, running the meet record in the 5k with a time of 15:01.38. This time not only won him the event but qualified him for regionals as well.

Zachary Mackiewicz won an event of his own in the shot put with a heave of 14.63 meters. This mark qualified him for regionals and is ninth on the all-time list.

Emily Hoegler had a big personal record in her second-place finish in the 1500-meter run. Her time of 4:52.33 qualifies her for regionals.

Kevin Christensen and
Michael Rodriguez had strong showings in the 1500 as well. Rodriguez ran his race in 3:58.85 while Christensen was less than two seconds behind with a time of 4:00.32. Both times qualify them for regionals later this spring.

Kerri McCarthy had a strong showing in her second-place finish in the shot put. She threw to a mark of 11.77 meters, which is enough to qualify her for regionals.

Warlys Lizardo had a monster PR in the hammer throw event, which earned him third place. His mark of 46.26 meters is ninth in TCNJ history.

Sameerah Khan finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.78.

TCNJ track will be back in Ewing this upcoming weekend for the TCNJ invitational starting Friday, April 7
th at 1PM.
