T&F All Over Leaderboards at Widener Invitational

GRANTHAM, PA.- With the spring season in full swing, it was another busy weekend for TCNJ track & field as they sent athletes to both the Widener Invitational. Between both teams, the Lions had a great weekend with some times and marks worth making note of.
 
Jessica Reilly highlighted the women's team for the weekend with her performance in the hammer throw. Reilly tied the school record with a throw of 47.26 meters. She also took eighth in the discus with a mark of 36.46 meters.
 
Eliza Bruncaj was sensational once again on the weekend, running the second fastest time in the nation in the 400-meter hurdles taking second with a time of 60.89 seconds. Not only is this the second fastest in the country, but the second fastest in school history as well.
 
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Maria Grill, Valandra Riggins, Victoria Purritano and Ashlyn MacLure ran a spectacular race on Saturday, blazing past the finish line at 47.14 seconds. This time was good enough for second at the meet, but it is also the third fastest in school history and the seventh best in the nation this season.
 
Grill also added a second-place finish of her own in the 400-meter run with a time of 57.45 seconds. Her running mate in the 4x1, Riggins finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.34 seconds.
 
Molly Bossdorf had a solid day in the 3000-meter steeplechase, taking fourth in the event with a time 12:27.13.
 
Zoe Iovino finished fourth in the triple jump after a leap of 10.73 meters. This mark is also a personal best for the senior from Somerville.
 
Sarah Scepkowski kept it up in the high jump, taking fifth after clearing the bar of 1.51 meters.
 
On the men's side, Tom Domozych highlighted for the weekend with his performance in the 100-meter dash. He took second amongst the field with a time of 10.89 seconds. Ray Schmitt finished shortly after him at 11.00 seconds, taking fourth.
 
Zachary Mackiewicz was strong in the discus once again, taking third with a massive throw of 48.77 meters. He also finished fifth in the shot put with a heave of 13.89 meters.
 
Sean Burtnett had an impressive day in the 800-meter run, taking sixth after crossing the finish line at 1:53.70.
 
The Lions are back out on the track this coming weekend as they head to the Penn Relays on Thursday for the weekend as well as hosting the Lions Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
