PITMAN, N.J. – Three members of the TCNJ swimming and diving teams were honored with NJAC weekly awards on Monday.
Ryan Higgins was named Swimmer of the Week on the men's side, while
Ethan Weiss and
Melody Lin gave the divers a sweep of the Diver of the Week accolades.
Higgins hit an NCAA B Cut in the 200 back against No. 4 NYU & No. 11 Johns Hopkins on Saturday, winning the event against NYU and placing second against Johns Hopkins with a time of 1:48.99, a time that currently ranks 7
th in the country. He also placed third in the 100 back (50.65) and fifth in the 200 IM (1:53.19) in dual meet bests for the season. Higgins is now a 5-time recipient of the Swimmer of the Week award.
Weiss collected his 23
rd career Diver of the Week laurel after sweeping the boards againstNYU on Saturday, posting NCAA regional qualifying marks on both boards (358.20 on 1-meter and 349.30 on 3-meter). He has the 10
th-highest scores in the country for both 1 & 3 meter 6 Dives, and both are also top NJAC scores this season.
Lin landed her first career NJAC weekly award after posting regional cuts on both boards for the first time on Saturday. She scored 229.75 on 1-meter and 247.50 on 3-meter.
