MAHWAH, N.J. – The TCNJ men's swimming team opened up their NJAC schedule with a bang, winning every single event in a rout of Ramapo on Saturday afternoon.
Pablo Salazar accounted for one of those wins the 200 fly, posting a time of 1:54.81—an NJAC top time. Three more Lions ended the meet with an individual win each. Freshman
Will Heinze was the winner in the 1000 free,
M.J. Hoban secured a victory in the 200 breast, and
Matt Liotti prevailed in the 500 free.
Four Lions ended the meet with multiple individual wins.
Gabe Beverini, fresh off an NJAC Rookie of the Week award, put in another strong performance; he picked up wins in the 100 and 200 free. Fellow freshman
Derin Ozbas also got two individual wins, finishing first in both the 100 back and 100 fly. Junior
Mason Bushay also logged two victories, one in the 200 back and the other in the 200 IM. Finally,
Tyler McGeehan won twice in the 50 free and 200 breast.
In addition, TCNJ opened and closed the meet with victories in the 200 medley relay as well as the 200 free relay. The winning team in the medley relay was comprised of
Gavin Patrick,
Gabe Beverini,
Derin Ozbas, and
Matt Liotti. The 200 free relay was won by the team of
Bradley Frank,
Joe McChesney,
Kyle Brushaber, and
M.J. Hoban.
The next action for Lions will be next weekend, when the divers head to NYU and the swimmers stay at home for a Saturday meet against #22 Salisbury.
