11/8/2025 5:29:00 PM

EWING, N.J. – In Saturday's battle between two top-25 teams, the #18 TCNJ men's swimming team handled #22 Salisbury, 154-108. Freshman Derin Ozbas highlighted the positive team performance by setting a new top NJAC time. TCNJ only dropped four events, ending the afternoon with 10 wins out of a possible 14.

The meet started off with two closely contested events: the 200 Medley Relay and the 1000 Free. In both, the eventual winners from TCNJ were in second place behind Salisbury going into the last lap. To start the meet, the TCNJ team of Andrew Kidchob, Tyler McGeehan, Joe McChesney, and M.J. Hoban won the 200 Medley Relay thanks in large part to a strong anchor leg from Hoban. Hoban swam the last leg in 20.48, helping his team finish a few hundredths of a second ahead of Salisbury's A relay. For Hoban, that was one of three total wins for the meet; he was also part of the winning group in the 400 Free Relay and he added an individual win in the 50 Free (21.36).

Next, Gavin Formon won the 1000 Free with a time of 9:48.36 and a last-lap comeback. Formon swam the last leg in a blistering 26.18—almost four seconds faster than second place—to complete the comeback.

Formon logged another individual victory in the 500 Free. In addition to Formon, Andrew Kidchob and Derin Ozbas also ended the afternoon with multiple individual wins. Kidchob logged his solo two wins in the 100 Back (50.07) and the 200 Back (1:53.11) to make it three total wins on the day. Ozbas set a new NJAC top time with en route to a win in the 200 Free (1:42.91), and he picked up his other win in the 100 Free (47.25).

The divers, meanwhile, competed in a two-day diving invite at NYU. Josh Bouchard, Wyatt Marble, and Joshua Kosukin all competed in the 1-meter, logging scores of 200.93, 190.65, and 185.1 respectively. On the 3-meter, Marble earned a score of 215.2, while Bouchard got a 208.5.

Next up for TCNJ is the TCNJ Invitational, a three-day home meet from Friday, November 21 to Sunday, November 23.
