PITMAN, N.J. – TCNJ men's basketball standout
Matthew Solomon was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week on Monday.
Solomon produced a 20-point, 15-rebound double-double to lead the Lions to an 85-68 victory over William Paterson in last Tuesday's NJAC opener. The senior was 9-of-13 from the field, including a 3-pointer, and pulled down three offensive rebounds to go with an assist and a steal. It was the eighth career game of 15-plus rebounds for Solomon and his 29th career double-double.
Solomon, who is averaging 12.2 points and an NJAC-leading 10.5 rebounds per game (good for 22nd in the nation), is second among all active Division III players with 768 career rebounds, just two behind the NCAA's active leader. He is now a two-time NJAC Player of the Week to go with his Defensive Player of the Week nod earlier in the season.
