Men's T&F Breaks Two Records at Armory

NEW YORK, N.Y., ITHACA, N.Y. & HAVERFORD, P.A. - The TCNJ men's track and field team competed at the Rutgers Scarlet Knight Open, the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational, and the Seamus McElligott Invitational over the weekend, putting together a string of remarkable achievements.
 
ON THE TRACK
SCARLET KNIGHT OPEN
  • On Friday night, Maxim Rychkov broke the TCNJ school record in the 200-meter dash, running 21.63 to win the event
  • Rychkov also teamed up with Noah Traverso, Ray Schmitt, and Anthony Senatore to win the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:27.97, which also broke the school record. This is also the fastest time in the NJAC, NCAA, and the second-fastest performance by a school in Division III history, good for seventh all-time in Division III
SEAMUS MCELLIGOTT INVITATIONAL
  • Anthony Thomas ran a 2:06.25 to finish as the runner-up of the 800-meter run
  • Evan Melito came in second place in the 3000-meter race with a time of 8:58.37 followed by teammate Nate Kidwell in fourth place with a 9:15.05 time.
IN THE FIELD
SEAMUS MCELLIGOTT INVITATIONAL
  • TCNJ secured the top 3 spots of the men's pole vault leading with Tyler DeMarco in 1st at 4.10 meters, followed by Matthew Corrigan at 3.80 meters and Zach Kosinski at 3.65 meters.
  • Three TCNJ athletes found themselves in the top 5 of the shot put. In second was Stephen Daramola with a 14.95 meter throw followed by Christian Farhat with 14.71 meters, and Jayden Wright with 14.08 meters.
BOMBER INVITATIONAL
  • Jayvee Dumas scored 4234 points in the heptathlon at the Bomber Invite. His score is the best in the NJAC and second-best in the Metro Region.

  • TCNJ men's track and field will be back at it on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Blue and Orange Invitational in Utica, N.Y. starting at 11:00 A.M.
