HAMPTON, Va. – The TCNJ men's swimming and diving team opened up the NJAC Championship with a second-place finish in the 800 free relay Thursday night at the Hampton Aquaplex.
Keilan Moran,
Brian Bull,
Gavin Formon, and
Ryan Higgins posted an NCAA B-cut time of 6:39.18, outperforming their entry time by more than nine seconds. They touched the wall behind the relay unit from Rowan, which dropped more than 18 seconds from their seed time and won the race by more than five seconds.
Higgins posted the top relay split at 1:38.43, while Moran led off with a 1:39.54.
Elsewhere, the unit of
Andrew Kidchob,
Ryan VanDeVeen,
Joe McChesney, and
M.J. Hoban notched a B-cut of their own in the 200 medley relay time trials (1:28.29).
The conference championship meet resumes Friday morning with prelims of the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relay. Action begins at 9:30 a.m.
