2/13/2025 8:59:00 PM

HAMPTON, Va. – Beth Evaldi repeated as 3-meter champion as the TCNJ women's divers kicked off the NJAC Championship with a bang on Thursday night, sweeping the top-5 spots at the Hampton Aquaplex.

Evaldi racked up a score of 399.20 to claim her second straight 3-meter title. Melody Lin placed runner-up with 344.30 points, Erin Sommers was third at 298.10, and Jenna Ringel (249.65) and Hannah Simons (243.35) rounded out a 1-2-3-4-5 effort.

Thanks to the divers' dominance, the Lions racked up 184 points to end the day comfortably atop the team standings. Mary Washington, the only other program with divers, is second with 120 points.

Evaldi is now a 5-time medalist at the NJAC Championships. The reigning NJAC Diver of the Year placed second in the 1-meter dive at each of the last two conference meets, and was also runner-up on 3-meter as a freshman in 2023.

Lin was third on 3-meter at last year's NJAC Championship.

In the pool, the quartet of Sarah Mandy, Katelyn Gaulin, Katie Mazzacco, and Bridget Cleveland placed seventh in the 800 free relay in a time of 7:57.40.

The conference championship meet resumes Friday morning with prelims of the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relay. Action begins at 9:30 a.m.
