Rychkov Continues Record-Breaking Ways for Men's T&F

PHILADELPHIA, P.A. - The TCNJ men's track and field team was in Philadelphia on Saturday for the Widener University Indoor Classic at the Jane and David Ott Center.
 
Maxim Rychkov continued his historic rookie campaign by setting new indoor program records in the 60-meter dash (6.80) and 200-meter dash (21.44) to headline a host of strong performances for the Lions.

ON THE TRACK 
  • Rychkov set his new program record (6.80) and came in second place in the 60-meter dash, moving into the No. 8 spot on the Division III indoor performance list
  • Rychkov went on to take home first place in the 200-meter dash with his second school record of the day, this one placing him 7th in all of Division III. Behind him was Noah Traverso, whose personal-best time (22.14) claimed him seventh place.
  • Michael Rodriguez landed in eighth place (4:18.91) in the mile. Kevin Matthews came in 11th with his season-best time (4:21.10).
  • Anthony Senatore set a new personal record (49.84) in the 400-meter dash while also coming in sixth place. In 18th place was Tyrese Gilbert, who also broke his personal record with a 50.79.
  • Will Evarts set a new PR (2:02.59) in the 800 meters, while David Keefe (2:01.21) and Anthony Thomas (2:02.88) beat their season bests
  • Brandon Chen set his new season-besttime (8:33.49) and came in third place in the 3000 meters. Matthew Granizo did the same and ended in 11th place (8:44.54).
IN THE FIELD
  • Traverso came in seventh place in the long jump (6.74m) followed by Ryan Donnelly in 11th (6.37m)
  • Christian Farhat threw for a career-best 14.96 meters in the shot put, claiming fifth place, followed by Jayden Wright in sixth (14.94m).
  • Steve Daramola came in third place in the weight throw with his a PR of 16.69 meters, moving up one spot to seventh in program history. George Agyei-Sam had his season-best throw (15.85m) and came in sixth place.
UP NEXT
  • The Lions will be back in Philadelphia for the NJAC Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 22 with a 4 P.M. start time.
