HAMPTON, Va. – Sarah Mandy finished seventh in the 1650 free and the TCNJ women's swimming landed a handful of entrants in B-finals to wrap up the NJAC Championship in sixth place on Sunday night.
Katelyn Gaulin,
Bridget Cleveland, and
Lilliana Kuball all finished in the top-3 in the B-finals of their respective events for the Lions, who moved up one spot in the team standings from a year ago and finished less than 40 points back of Kean in fifth.
The divers dominated the weekend for the Lions, with
Beth Evaldi winning both boards and
Melody Lin placing second. Of the two boards, TCNJ accounted for nine of the top-10 finishers.
Mandy and Kuball were the A-finalists for the Lions over the course of the championship.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Mandy recorded the third-best 1650 free time in program history, taking seventh overall in 17:49.40
- Katelyn Gaulin was runner-up in the B-final of the 200 breast, stopping the timer at a career-best 2:25.68 and moving into fourth on the program's all-time performance list in the event
- Cleveland placed third in the B-final of the 200 back, clocking in at 2:08.85 to land just .15 seconds off her career best from the TCNJ Invitational. Colleen Scanlon, meanwhile, was seventh in the B-final (2:11.30)
- Kuball matched Cleveland with a third-place showing in the B-final of the 100 free, posting a personal-best 53.47
- Nisha Narayanan was seventh in the B-final of the 200 fly,
- Shaye Bundonis (2:14.94) and Shayna Jaroslaw (2:17.29) were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the C-final of the 200 back; Jaroslaw was also seventh in the C-final of the 200 fly (2:24.86)
- Katie Mazzacco made the C-final of the 100 free, taking eighth in a time of 54.87 seconds
- Ren Wolstenholme (18:46.22), Bella Patti (18:48.32), and Caroline Gemelli (19:27.77) placed 21st through 23rd in the 1650 free
