PITMAN, N.J. – A pair of TCNJ student-athletes were recognized for outstanding performances with weekly awards from the NJAC on Monday.
Women's lacrosse goalie
Julia Charest was named Defensive Player of the Week, while baseball's
Ryan Greenstein earned Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors.
Charest was a force in the crease in two games against nationally ranked opponents last week, racking up double-digit saves in both contests. She matched her career high with 15 saves to help keep the Lions competitive in a loss to top-ranked Middlebury on Wednesday, then came back with 12 stops against No. 21 UChicago on Friday.
In the process, Charest moved into third on the program's all-time saves chart and also surpassed 400 saves for her career. She is now a 5-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week for her career.
Greenstein was electric in his collegiate debut, working three scoreless innings against No. 4 Endicott during the Lions' spring break trip to Florida. He allowed just one hit and struck out two Gulls in a dazzling display.
