4/21/2025 2:00:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. – Five TCNJ student-athletes received weekly recognition from the NJAC on Monday.

Ally Tobler was named the Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week while Julia Kinnally (softball) and Aira Abalos (women's tennis) garnered Player of the Week honors as well. The Lions five honorees were capped off by Shruti Mannan and Maxim Rychkov, who were named the Rookies of the Week in women's tennis and men's track & field respectively.

Tobler had another stellar week en route to her fourth Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, as she found the back of the cage nine times and handed out five assists in a pair of games. She also added seven draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Tobler had four goals and four assists in a 21-2 rout of Ramapo before leading all players with five goals in Saturday's clash with No. 17 Colorado College. Tobler leads the NJAC in goals (61), goals per game (4.36), draw controls (92), and draw controls per game (6.57).

Kinnally hit an impressive .538 (7-13) with five runs, three doubles and seven RBIs in a 3-1 week for TCNJ. The graduate student was the difference in the Lions' win over then-unbeaten Rowan to start the week, going 3-4 with a double, home run and four RBIs in a 5-2 victory, handing the Profs their first loss in 364 days. Kinnally was then unstoppable in a sweep of NJCU, combining to go 4-6 with two doubles, four runs scored and another three RBIs.

Abalos, now a three-time Player of the Week in her career, won both of her matches against Division 2 Goldey-Beacom on Friday. The senior teamed up with Gabrielle Brideau for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles before rallying for a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) triumph at No. 2 singles.

Mannan – last week's NJAC Player of the Week– paired with Zoey Albert for a 7-6 (2) tiebreak victory at number one doubles against Division 2 Goldey-Beacom on Friday, finishing the regular season with an unbeaten 16-0 dual match record on the top doubles court.

Rychkov is Lions' fifth and final honoree following a stellar weekend at both the Coach Pollard Invitational and Paul Donahue Invitational. The freshman opened his week as a part of the 4x100 team that broke the TCNJ record with a time of 41.05, going on to set new program records in the 4x400 – the team's time of 3:12.10 also ranks top five in Division III this season – as well as the 200m (21.33).
