5/15/2025 8:29:00 PM

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Maxim Rychkov and Ray Schmitt finished 1-2 in the 100-meter dash to power the TCNJ men's track and field team to a ninth-place showing at the AARTFC Championships at Williams.

Rychkov and Schmitt joined Nate Adams as medalists over the two-day meet for the Lions, who posted their first top-10 regional finish since tying for fifth as a team in 2022.

ON THE TRACK
  • Rychkov broke his own program record in Wednesday's 100 dash prelims, crossing the line in 10.45 seconds to move up five spots to 17th on the Division III performance list and into qualifying range for the NCAA Championships. He came back Thursday to claim the regional title in 10.50 seconds, edging out teammate Ray Schmitt's 10.55
  • Adams got onto the medal stand in the 400-meter hurdles, bagging a bronze with a mark of 52.76; at the conclusion of the event he stood in 22nd on the national performance list. Anthony Senatore moved into the top-50 nationally with a personal-best 53.81 to finish 10th overall
  • Thomas Blach's career-best time of 1:52.39 was good for fourth place in the 800, and less than half a second outside the top-50 in the nation
  • Michael Rodriguez posted a big PR of 3:52.88 to place fifth in the 1500 meters, besting his previous personal benchmark by over two full seconds
  • Adams just missed qualifying for the 110-meter hurdles final, finishing 10th in prelims with a time of 15.10 seconds
IN THE FIELD
  • Steve Daramola paced seventh in the discus throw on Wednesday with a top mark of 46.93 meters. He was just shy of scoring range in Thursday's hammer throw, finishing 10th with a personal-best mark of 52.18 meters, more than two meters clear of his previous PR
  • Jayvee Dumas was just out of scoring range in the pole vault, taking ninth with a clearance of 4.40 meters
  • Ryan Mohr placed 14th in the javelin throw (52.13m)
