BALTIMORE, Md. – The TCNJ men's swimming team faced off against both #14 Johns Hopkins and Washington and Lee on Friday, falling to the former while picking up a win against the latter.

Despite the loss against Johns Hopkins, the Lions came in first place in 4 events while winning 6 events total against the Blue Jays. The Lions' A relay was very close to starting the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay. However, the squad of Andrew Kidchob, Tyler McGeehan, Joe McChesney, and M.J. Hoban finished just 4 hundredths of a second (3:18.95) behind Johns Hopkins' A relay. That event got first-place points against W&L, something which Kidchob would do again in the 100 Back with his 3rd-place finish (50.69).

The Lions didn't have to wait long for their first win of the meet, however, Gavin Formon placed 1st in the 1000 Free 9:36.18. Later in the meet, Formon also came 3rd in the 500 Free (4:44.72) to claim first-place points versus W&L. Pablo Salazar would also pick up first-place

A few events after Formon's win, Tyler McGeehan secured TCNJ's second win of the meet in the 100 Breast (56.85). He would also finish 2nd in the 200 Breast (2:04.30) to lock up more first-place points against W&L In that event, Gabe Beverini (2:09.04) came in 4th and Dylan Negron (2:09.34) finished 5th to earn more first-place points against the Generals. In one of the final events of the meet, Beverini would finish 2nd in the 200 IM to pick up first-place points against Johns Hopkins.

M.J. Hoban followed up with a win in the 50 Free (20.96). Hoban almost logged a second win for himself in the 100 Free as well (46.14), but he finished just one hundredth of a second behind first place while securing first-place points against Johns Hopkins.

Joe McChesney picked up the Lions' fourth and final win in the 100 Fly, where he logged a time of 48.86. Pablo Salazar got first-place points against W&L with a 3rd-place finish in the 200 Fly.

The Lions will be in action next on Friday, January 16th for a home showdown against Rowan.
