1/26/2026 2:48:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. –  TCNJ had a six-pack of student-athletes garner NJAC weekly honors, as announced by the conference this afternoon.

Men's basketball's Matthew Solomon was named the Defensive Player of the Week while Lucia Garcia-Beltran (Track Athlete of the Week) and Sarah Scepkowski (Field Athlete of the Week) claimed a pair of honors for women's track & field, with TCNJ swim & dive rounding out the Lions' half-dozen selections courtesy of Joshua Kosukhin (Diver of the Week), Gabe Beverini (Rookie of the Week) and Beth Evaldi (Diver of the Week)

Solomon posted two more big double-doubles in the Lions' NJAC road sweep last week. The senior had 11 points and six assists to go with a season-high 20 rebounds in Wednesday's 74-51 win at William Paterson, then came back with 12 points, 14 boards, and six assists as TCNJ fended off Kean for a crucial 81-77 victory on Saturday. Solomon also had a block in each game and finished with three steals for the week, going 11-of-23 from the field (47.8 percent) in the two contests.

Garcia-Beltran is now a two-time Track Athlete of the Week honoree after posting another national top-ten time at the Liberty Open this past weekend, this time in the 200m. The senior's time of 24.65 is currently the 6th fastest in Division III, giving her the highest ranking of any female in the NJAC in any track event. Garcia-Beltran also posted a 7.68 in the 60m prelims, which is second in the NJAC behind only her own time of 7.63 she ran two weeks ago.

Scepkowski – the Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks – won the high jump at the Hound Classic, clearing 1.63m. The senior's regional-qualifying mark also served as a PR and is tied for the seventh-best mark in TCNJ history.

Evaldi garnered her 14th career Diver of the Week selection after leading the Lions once again in all diving events last week. On Friday, she posted team-high scores in both the 1-meter (261.68) and 3-meter (282.98). In the Lions' senior day meet against Montclair State, Evaldi logged team-best marks of 244.50 and 191.15 in the two 1-meter events.

Beverini competed in six events across two meets en route to his third Rookie of the Week selection. The freshman picked up three individual wins across both meets, topping the table in the 200 Free, 200 IM and 100 Free. Beverini also swam the breaststroke leg of the 200 Medley Relay, helping the Lions to a relay win as well.

Kosukhin rounds out the Lions' six-pack with his first-ever Diver of the Week honors. The sophomore led the way for TCNJ's divers in the 1-meter on Friday, posting a 217.28 in six dives while also placing second in the 3-meter (208.5).
