2/14/2026 11:53:00 PM

HAMPTON, Va. – The dominance continued for the TCNJ on the third day of the NJAC Championships, as the Lions racked up five wins while resetting multiple records. The Lions posted at least one NCAA DIII B cut time in every swimming event to boot.

An NJAC record fell in the first event of the day, as Joe McChesney, Andrew Kidchob, Bradley Frank, and M.J. Hoban combined for a time of 1:21.08 in the 200 freestyle relay. Then, Gavin Formon claimed the 400 IM conference crown for the first time in his career; he had finished second in each of the last three years. Formon went 3:53.20 in the race.

A second record fell in the 100 butterfly to the hands of Joe McChesney. McChesney posted a 47.32 in the prelims, breaking the previous record as a result. He lowered that time to 47.19 in the finals to claim his second straight conference championship in the 100 butterfly. Andrew Kidchob joined McChesney on the podium, having placed third with another B cut time of 48.58.

TCNJ also had two swimmers on the podium for the 200 freestyle, a close race which was won by Steven Bendoraitis (1:38.78) by just four hundredths of a second. Kyle Brushaber took third (1:39.85), while Matthew Liotti (1:39.88) and Hoban (1:40.61) placed fourth and fifth respectively. Brian Bull (1:41.88) also placed in eighth, making it five Lions in the A final of the event.

The 100 breaststroke was the only event TCNJ did not win, but Tyler McGeehan (2nd, 54.67) still posted a B cut time and was only behind first place by .09 seconds. Andrew Kidchob capped off day three with a win in the 100 backstroke, claiming his first conference championship in the event for his career.

The Lions will now enter the final day of NJACs comfortably atop the standings, as 260 points separate them from second-place Salisbury.
