Ewing, NJ … Performing in front of a group of recent alums who returned to The College of New Jersey for homecoming weekend, the men's swimming and diving team wanted to assure their predecessors that all is well in TCNJ's Aquatic Center.
 
So they went out and won every event.
 
The Lions (2-0) took first place in all 12 individual events and both relay races as they defeated New Jersey Athletic Conference opponent Montclair State University 173-107 on Friday night.
 
Equally impressive was the only three swimmers won multiple individual events as nine different Lions posted first-place finishes. Junior Joseph Dunn (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) and sophomores Jin Roh (Tenafly, NJ/Tenafly) and Ryan Gajdzisz (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) each won a pair of individual races. Dunn contributed to both relay wins, while Gajdzisz swam a leg in the 400-free relay victory.
 
Senior Aleksander Burzinski (Colonia, NJ/St. Joseph's), junior James Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park), Dunn and senior Brian Perez (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) set the tone with a 1:35.57 victory in the 200-medley relay. Gajdzisz followed with a winning time of 10:08.56 in the 1000-free before sophomore Andrew Nesbitt (Somerset, NJ/St. Joseph's) topped the field in the 200-free at 1:45.17.
 
Burzynksi reached back to touch the wall first in the 100-backstroke, completing the race in 54.18. Sophomore Vince Masciandaro (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) then kept the streak going with a time of 1:01.44 in the 100-breaststroke. Classmate Scott Vitabile (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) topped the field in the 200-butterfly with a finish of 2:01.80.
 
Dunn sprinted to a 21.01 finish in the 50-free and fellow national champion and senior Brett Pedersen (Sewell, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) claimed the 100-free in 46.69. Roh won the first of his two blue ribbons in the 200-back with a time of 2:02.48.
 
Shangle returned to the water to register the fastest time in the 200-breast, finishing in 2:11.32. Gajdzisz, Dunn and Roh then completed the clean sweep with wins in the 500-free, 100-fly and 200-individual medley.
 
Nesbitt, Gajdzisz, Pedersen and Dunn joined forces to win the 400-free relay in 3:08.26.
 
TCNJ is back in action next Saturday when they visit Division II rival Southern Connecticut University in a dual meet starting at 4:00 p.m.
