Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey had four athletes chosen for weekly awards by the New Jersey Athletic Conference for their performances during the week ending January 29, 2017.

Senior Sarah Grassi (Oaklyn, NJ / Camden Catholic) earned her second consecutive and third overall NJAC Diver of the Week Award. Freshman Derek Kneisel (Linwood, NJ / Mainland Regional) received his first conference award as NJAC Rookie of the Week for men's swimming and diving. Katie LaCapria (Middlesex, NJ / Middlesex) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week for women's track and field for the second time this year. Jake Dinerman (Hadden Twp., NJ / Hadden Twp.) rounded out the honorees from TCNJ, as he earned NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for men's track and field.

For the second week in a row, Grassi won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events. She earned a score of 274.05 in the 1-meter and 261.08 in the 3-meter.

Kneisel was a part of the Lions winning 200-medley relay team than touched the wall first in a time of 1:34.43. He swam the opening leg of the race in a time of 24.43.

LaCapria defeated all other Division II and III runners at the Villanova Open, winning the 800-meters in a time of 2:16.23. She then went out the next day at the John Covert Classic and was part of the Lions 2nd place relay team in the 4x400-meters.

Dinerman ran the Lions fastest time of the season thus far in the mile with a time of 4:28.12, earning him a third place finish at the John Covert Classic.
