TROY, N.Y. – The No. 10 TCNJ men's swim and dive team completed a perfect Saturday at the RPI Kumpf Invite, scoring the most overall points and winning all four dual meets that were scored during the meet.
The Lions (7-2) won the invitational with the highest score of 641 points to place atop the five teams competing. The dual meet scores saw TCNJ beating Ithaca 146.50-96.50, RPI 186-55, SUNY Cortland 194-49, and Skidmore 203-40. Overall, the Lions won eight total events throughout the day.
Kicking off the meet, TCNJ's 400 medley relay A team of

Matt Watts cruised to a top time of 3:29.17.
In the 1000 freestyle, freshman
Gavin Formon clocked the top time of 9:49.81 to take the win. Rounding out the top three, sophomore
Lukas Blach finished in third after clocking a 10:02.45. Formon would follow up by also winning the 500 free with a time of 4:46.97.
Junior
James McChesney finished the day with two event victories. The first came in the 200 freestyle, in which he won with time of 1:45.24. McChesney's second event win of the day happened in the 200 butterfly, in which he clocked a time of 1:54.40.
Dixon Kahler led the Lions in the 50 freestyle, sprinting to a third place time of 22.21 seconds.
The Lions would sweep the 200 IM, freshman
Andrew Kidchob led the way in first with a 1:58.98, sophomore
Ryan Higgins placed second in 1:59.07 and fellow sophomore
Shawn Kushner rounded out the trio after a time of 1:59.63.
Senior
Matt Watts earned a third place finish in the 100 freestyle after clocking a 48.82. Higgins finished second with 1:56.93 in the 200 backstroke. And in the 200 breaststroke,
Ryan VanDeVeen won with a time of 2:08.91. Kushner finished second in the event with time of 2:10.67.
Ending the day in the 400 free relay, the Lions A team finished second with a time of 3:13.06.
On the board,
Ethan Weiss and
Michael Wu both had a stellar day. Weiss won in the 1-meter dive after scoring 262.05 points, and narrowly missed out on a top place finish in the 3-meter dive, finishing with a score of 265.65, which was only 0.20 points behind first. Wu earned a third-place finish in the 3-meter dive after scoring 257.70.
The Lions will resume NJAC dual meet competition next weekend when the team travels out to Montclair State. The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time.
