GREENSBORO, N.C. – The TCNJ Men's swimming and diving team saw another All-American relay performance on day three of the NCAA Championship on Friday.
The Lions finished the day in 13th place, with a team score of 89.50 points.
Representing TCNJ's first relay podium finish since 2017, the 800 free relay team swam the fourth-fastest time in school history. The quartet of
Lukas Blach,
Brian Bull,
Gavin Formon and
James McChesney clocked a time of 6:37.32, which finished as the seventh-fastest time on the day. The performance was the top time during the morning session, which guaranteed the Lions relay no lower than a ninth-place finish in the event, as it was a timed finals.
In the 100 breast prelims, sophomore
Ryan VanDeVeen finished 25
th with a time of 55.57, missing his season-best by half a second.
Freshman
Andrew Kidchob clocked a time of 50.51 in the 100 back to place 32
nd.
TCNJ will conclude their 2023 season tomorrow with
James McChesney in the 100 freestyle,
Ryan Higgins in the 200 backstroke, and
Ryan VanDeVeen in the 200 breast. The trio of Formon, Bull and Blach will compete in the mile. The Lions will also compete in the 400 Free Relay.
