PITMAN, N.J. – The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its selections for weekly awards, and two student-athletes from the TCNJ women's track & field team landed on the list.
Sam Gorman was named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week, while
Kassidy Mulryne received the nod for NJAC Rookie of the Week. Â
Gorman put forth a strong performance in the NYC Gotham Cup. She ran to a time of 25.72 in the 200 meter to lock up third place out of 63 competitors, and that time is also the fastest for the 200 in the NJAC this season. Gorman additionally took sixth place in the 300 meter with a time of 41.98, and ran a leg on the 4x400 relay squad that took sixth place with a time of 4:03.18. This is the second week in a row Gorman has earned NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors.
Mulryne competed in a multitude of events this past weekend, and did so effectively. She won the 60 meter hurdles at the Collegeville Classic with a time of 9.25. She also placed second in the triple jump with a top jump of 10.82 meters. In the NYC Gotham Cup, Mulryne placed second in the high jump as she cleared the bar at 1.65m. She also claimed sixth place in the 60 hurdles as she ran to a time of 9.19. This is the third time this season that Mulryne has been named NJAC Rookie of the Week.Â
