Diane Klueg Kahlich is already a member of the TCNJ Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the 1987 softball team that won a national title. Klueg, a two-time NCAA Champion with the Lions, was a key member of teams that combined for a 168-27 record during her four years.

Klueg was a starter from day one in 1986, leading the Lions in nearly every offensive category as a freshman. Klueg hit .442 with 21 extra base hits and 46 RBIs. Her efforts helped the Lions to a 45-6 overall record. Her 73 hits and 13 doubles each led the nation. She would be honored as a First-Team All-American to cap off her season.

As a sophomore in 1987, Klueg once again led the Lions in several offensive categories. Primarily playing first base, Klueg hit .446 with 16 extra base hits and 40 RBIs. For a second straight season, she topped the country in hits. The team was dominant all season, outscoring opponents 325-65. The team went 3-0 in the NJAC Tournament and 6-0 in the NCAA Tournament, culminating in a 1-0 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater to claim the NCAA Championship. Klueg was honored as a First-Team All-American for a second straight year.

In her junior year, Klueg made another transition, this time to third base, but was still among the team leaders in all hitting categories. Klueg hit .471 with 23 extra base hits and 50 RBIs. The Lions put together yet another strong season, finishing with a 38-8 record, and Klueg earned a third straight First-Team All-America honor.

1989 was a special season for Klueg. She hit .397 with 13 extra base hits and 31 RBIs. Again, near the top of the team leaderboard in several statistical categories, Klueg earned her fourth straight First-Team All-America honor. She would one-up herself, being named National Player of Year. The team defeated Eastern Connecticut St., 8-7, in extra innings to earn a second national title during her tenure.

At the time of her graduation, Klueg was the NCAA career record holder for hits with 265. She currently ranks 11th in NCAA history.

A two-time NCAA All-Tournament Team member, two-time NCAA Champion, and four-time First-Team All-American, Klueg was one of 10 players to be named to the NCAA Division III Softball 25th Anniversary Team in 2006.
