Hillary Klimowicz was the first women’s basketball player in the history of TCNJ and the NJAC to be named the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association National Division III Player of the Year when she won the award in 2009. That season, she set the TCNJ record for points in a season with 587 while averaging a double-double of 20.2 points and 10.8 rebounds. She also averaged 4.2 blocks per game.
Her name dots the TCNJ record book in several categories. In the single-season lists, she owns two of the top four scoring totals in school history, two of the top three rebounding totals, and each of the top three spots in the blocks category. In blocks, she set the school record with 76 during the 2006-07 season before shattering it with 119 in 2007-08. Amazingly, she finished with exactly the same total during her Player of the Year season in 2008-09.
That 2008-09 TCNJ team set a school record with 28 victories. It also made it all the way to the Final Four after defeating DeSales, Tufts, Rochester and Scranton in the NCAA Tournament.
Klimowicz is the school’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,413 points. She also ranks first all-time with 314 blocked shots and fourth with 832 rebounds.
